When a street crosses a transition area, an intersection will be created automatically.
The direction of travel can be set for lanes in transition areas.
Vehicles align to lanes when dropped in street transition areas.
Crosswalks snap and align to lanes in street transition areas.
Two stripes in a transition area can connect to one point in the connected street.
Stop lines and yield lines align and snap to lanes.
The upper limit on the street intersection stripe set-backs has been increased.
Crosswalks outer stripes no longer reset when their end points are moved.
General Drawing Improvements:
Hot keys have been added for the street stripe eraser tool and for basic shapes.
The ladders on firetruck symbols can be extended.
The line shape now has the arc profile by default.
Linear symbols (E.G, sidewalks, railroad tracks, fences, etc.) can be grouped with other shapes.
Two new measurement options have been added. Diagrams can have measurements to the 1/4" or 1/8".
This is in addition to other measurement options: meters, feet and inches, and feet and tenths.
A new structure drawing tool has been added that allows the direct entry of wall lengths during the
structure drawing process.

these functions were only available via the API.
Vehicle Metadata Enhancements:
Vehicle text is now in the metadata returned for vehicles when the diagram is stored.
All vehicles with text are now included in the vehicle metadata returned when a
diagram is stored. In V8.0, only vehicles with attached metadata were returned.
Changes in Version 8.0:
Internet Explorer and older non-Chromium based versions of Microsoft Edge are not supported.
The diagram editor may be usable in these unsupported browsers. However, a warning message will be
displayed at editor startup.
The editor version and server version are checked during editor startup to ensure compatibility.
The toolbar icons have been updated to be more clearly rendered at various screen resolutions
and on different devices. Toolbar icons are also more consistent with other Trancite applications.
Symbol Additions and Updates:
New Axe symbols (yes, the kind you use to chop down trees)
New Recreational Trailer symbols

New Yield Line symbols: these are linear symbols that can be easily drawn to match

All passenger and police vehicles now have interior, front, and rear views.
Updated aircraft and helicopters symbols
Symbol Flip and Change Orientation operations are available in the symbol property dialog.
These operations were removed in V7.7.
The unlabeled satellite view is now the default for Bing, Google, and ESRI base maps.
Structure Drawing:
Support for drawing structures with varying wall widths has been improved.
The widths of individual walls can be set.
More pre-drawn structure layouts have been added. The goal is to go beyond boxes
and provide more common room layouts.
Parking Stalls:
Parallel and angled Parking Stalls have been added to the symbol manager
on the Streets layer to improve discoverability.
An angle control and a number-of-stalls control have been added to Parking Stall properties.
This facilitates quickly creating precise parking stall layouts.
A new shape has been added that is used to connect streets with different layouts.
I.E., streets that differ in the number of lanes and divider type.
Offset arcs are fundamental shapes that we use in diagrams to render streets, linear symbols,
turn bays, and street transitions. We've added two new drag handles to offset arcs to allow more
adjustments to the appearance of objects that contain them.
The server includes support for automatically loading and updating custom templates.
Geospatial Awareness:
The geolocation of a diagram can be supplied through the editor's API.
When a diagram has location, a map can be auto-selected based on the location.
When a diagram has location, templates can be auto-selected based on the location.
When a diagram with a location is stored via the API, the location is included with the
other diagram information returned by the store operation.
The toolbar includes a command to set the diagram location. In prior releases this command
automatically selected a map type and added the map to the diagram after setting the location.
In V8, this command sets the diagram location only. The "Start with Map" command that appears
on an empty diagram is unchanged, it continues to provide automatic "enter a diagram
location and get a map" behavior.
Vehicle Metadata:
Extended metadata can be added to vehicle symbols. This data is made up of named fields
and values that can be entered by the user or defined by the integrator through the API.
This capability is designed for collecting common vehicle identification information
like VIN#, year, make, model, type, and color.
When vehicle metadata is provided via the API, special vehicle symbols and corresponding
vehicle labels are created in the Symbol Manager under a special node called "Incident
Vehicles". These symbols and labels can be added to the diagram like other symbols.
Support for VIN# interpretation is available. When a VIN# is entered by the user, the user
can choose to have it processed to extract the year, make, model, and type. When vehicle data
is supplied via the API, the integrator can choose to have the passed-in VIN#s interpreted
to extract year, make, model, and type.
When a vehicle symbol has extended metadata, that data can be shown in a special callout
linked to the symbol or in the symbol's text label.
When a diagram containing symbols with metadata is stored via the API, the metadata for those
symbols is included with the other diagram information returned by the store operation.
Changes in Version 7.7:
Internet Explorer 11 is no longer supported.
The rasterizer service is now disabled by default in server.
Symbol Use Improvements:
The terminology used to describe changing the current view of a symbol to top, bottom, side,
etc. is now "Change Orientation".
A "Change Orientation" command has been added to the toolbar.
When a symbol is selected, the key combination ALT-O toggles symbol orientation.
Front and rear views have been added for commonly used vehicle symbols.
The default location for text in vehicle symbols has been changed from the center to beneath
the symbol to improve visibility.
New top-down view pedestrian symbols have been added.
New recreational vehicle symbols - boats, ATVs, jet skis, and associated trailers have been
added.
New electric and motor scooter symbols have been added.
New motorcycle and bike helmet symbols have been added.
New school crossing sign symbols have been added.
New triangle warning lane marker symbols have been added.
The North Indicator symbol now has thicker lines to enhance visibility.
Incident metadata that will be included in a header block for printed diagrams may be specified via
the printedDiagramHeader property.
A link to the fingertap.com documentation website has been added to the info menu.
Changes in Version 7.6:
The editor can now be run in environments that block 'unsafe-eval' via content security policies.
The local rasterizer is enabled by default in browsers that support it (Chrome, Safari, Firefox).
This allows the editor to render diagrams as raster images without making a server request in
widely used browsers. In prior versions, this was an option that had to be enabled.
NearMap is now available as an additional map image source in diagrams.
This provides another source of high-resolution map imagery.
Symbols search has been improved by considering symbol categories and by improving the ordering
of symbol search results.
Symbols are now organized by region, and region-specific symbols can be enabled and disabled.
Many new symbols have been added including scooters, helmets, additional school crossing signs,
recreational boats and items related to wildlife conservation.
Crosswalk formatting has been enhanced to include more control over stripe color and the layout of
stripes.
Diagram printing has been improved by updating available page sizes to better support the needs of
European customers.
Articulating doors were added to frequently used vehicle symbols.
An interior view was added to frequently used vehicle symbols.
A new custom template import utility has been added.
Changes in Version 7.5:
A new grass street divider type is available. Street lanes may also have a fill color.
Symbol search has been improved by considering additional symbol keyword metadata.
This makes it easier to find symbols using alternative names.
For example, searches for "Bike" and "Bicycle" will both include the Bicycle symbol.
New auto-numbered label symbols are available.
These symbols are automatically assigned a unique number as they are added to the diagram.
They are available on the streets, structures, and symbols layers.
The profile of linear symbols can be set in the same way as streets and lines.
Text in text boxes, rectangles, and squares can be aligned vertically and horizontally.
A new API method has been added that destroys the diagram editor.
This is useful when the editor must be created and destroyed more than
once during the life of a page.
Symbol group and un-group accelerator keys have been added that are consistent with Trancite
Windows apps. I.E., CTRL-G will group symbols and CTRL-U will un-group symbols.
Changes in Version 7.4:
Improved Structure Drawing:
All structure drawing has been moved to a new Structures layer.
This includes reorganizing all structure symbols in the Symbol Manager.
Drawing a structure using the Structure Painter tool can be resumed.
New interior walls can be drawn in existing structures using the Structure Painter tool
(in addition to drag-and-drop).
Right-angle indicators and connection aides are shown when drawing or editing a structure.
Wall lengths can be set to the nearest inch or centimeter when using the Structure Painter tool
via the arrow keys. Selected walls, windows, and doors can also be moved in inch/cm increments
using the arrow keys after the structure is drawn. Windows, doors, and walls in structures can
be copied using CTRL-Drag.
Roadside feature symbols like guardrails, bridge railings and other barriers are available on the
Streets layer.
The lengths of linear symbols can be set to specific values.
The lengths of linear symbols can now be shown in diagrams.
The editor is included on pages as one JavaScript file (in prior releases separate CSS and
JavaScript files were included on pages). The process of getting the editor on a page is simplified and
all traces of the Dojo loader have been eliminated.
IE 9 & 10 are no longer supported.
Changes in Version 7.3:
The editor's new Views feature is enabled by setting the viewAreasEnabled configuration property
to true. viewAreasEnabled is a property of the configuration object passed to the editor's

The behavior and capabilities of the Web SDK server are largely

The Rasterizer command line utility is no longer supported. The new Diagram Editor
SDK provides more comprehensive automation capabilities, including PowerShell support.
The server configuration file supports several new settings:
rasterizerDefaultWidth, rasterizerDefaultHeight,
rasterizerDefaultMargin, rasterizerDefaultImageQuality,
rasterizerDefaultFormat and tempFileAutoDelete.
Server configuration option rasterizeUseGPU is no longer supported.
The functionality of the editor is reduced in Internet Explorer 9 and 10:
